1. Schools of Excellence(Co-Education) (SOE)
  • Centers for excellence are evolved to bring out the innate abilities of the brilliant ST students so as to accelerate them as aspirants of IIT, IIIT, NITJEE and MBBS etc.
  • In order to achieve this, it is felt necessary to arrange coaching in a scientific manner on long term basis, providing special attention right from the 8th class to intermediate level with the help of committed faculty.
  • The Government have started (2) Schools of Excellence at Parvathipuram, Vizianagaram District and Srisailam Kurnool, District vide G.O.Ms.No:42, Social Welfare (TW Edn-I) Dept., dt:31-05-2005 with the advice of Sri Chukka Ramaiah, renowned educationist.
  • Two more (2)Schools of Excellence is started at Marikavalasa,Visakhapatnam District and Srikalahasthi, Chittoor District.
  • (04) College of Excellence is started at Malli, Srikakulam District, Vissannapeta, Krishna District, Y.G.Palem, Prakasam District and Tanakallu, Anathapur District.
Sanctioned Strength:

These schools will have classes from 8th to Intermediate. There are (3) sections from class 8th to 10th @ 30 students in each section and 45 seats for MPC and 45 seats in BPC in Intermediate. Hence the total strength in school section is 270 while in college the strength is 180.


Admissions:

Admissions for only ST students based on merit in Entrance Test prior to the implementation of RTE Act. Now the admissions are made by drawl of lots from the 7th class passed out students of the catchment districts to each school for admissions in to 8th class as given under.

  • 30% seats are reserved are reserved for girls in school section and 20% seats are reserved for girls in college section as per the G.O Ms No. G.O.Ms.No.42, SW (TW.Edn.I) Dept., dt.31-05-2005 respectively.
  • Admissions to the Intermediate are based on the merit in Entrance Test from among the students belongs to catchment area. The test will be on 10th standard for 100 marks (Maths – 25 , Physical science -25, Natural science – 25, English - 25).
  • In Schools of Excellence the students passed in 10th class will be given admission in Intermediate without any entrance test. The leftover vacancies will be filled to the Entrance Test conducted at State Level.
Selection of Staff:

Selection will be made through State level written test, Demo & Interviews by selection committee from among the interested Gurukulam Staff who are willing to work in these institutions.

Teachers will also be selected on out sourcing basis with a suitable attractive remuneration following the rigorous selection procedure like Written Test, Interview and Demo.


Incentives to the Staff:

The incentives shall be given to the Principals and Teachers @ Rs.1665/- & RS.1600/- per month respectively as they have to handle additional workload by way of assignments, correction / valuation and extra classes. Apart from this incentive an amount upto Rs.2.50 lakhs shall be given to the teaching and non-teaching staff as performance linked incentive.

2. Colleges of Excellence (COE)

(3) Colleges of Excellence at Vizag, Warangal and Srikalahasti have been established (co-education) in 2005-06 academic year with MPC and BiPC groups with 40 ST students in each group with English medium vide G.O.Ms.No:55, SW (TW Edn.II) Dept., dt:06-07-2006.

Physical Education:

All the students shall participate in early morning PT and Yoga classes at 5.00 am to 6.00 am in presence of trained teachers and also in games and sports in the evening time between 5.00 pm to 6.00 pm.
