Mini Gurukulams
The Government of India have sanctioned 12 Educational Complexes in 1999-2000 for the benefit of ST Girls in Low Female Literacy pockets in Andhra Pradesh. They were started with 1st standard and one higher class was being added year after year up to 5th class. Recently 1 Mini Gurukulam, Railwaykodur in Kadapa District has been upgraded to 6th class.
Students strength :
Each class shall have 30 students and the total number of students are 210 in seven classes.
Admission procedure :
Local ST girls within the mandal will be considered first and in case of vacancies, the surrounding mandals will be considered. The entry point for admission is 1st class and the backlog vacancies for the other classes will be filled in every year. Medium of instruction is Telugu.

Amenities:
- Free boarding and accommodation
- 3 pairs of Uniform
- Note book and Text books free of cost
- Trunk box
- Class III to VI - Rs.110/- & VII - Rs.160/- towards cosmetic charges per month
The estimated cost for construction of permanent building is Rs.25.00 lakhs and the expenditure is met from the funds under CSS -Article 275 (1) and Tribal Sub Plan-funds.
Every year proposals along with inspection reports of these (12) Educational Complexes are being submitted to the GoI for continuing the scheme.
The scheme is being continued as there is a good response from the Tribal Girls to study in the Educational Complexes.
