1. ST Residential Schools
  • Out of 190 Residential institutions functioning in Gurukulam (50) are Residential Schools including 10 PTG schools and 4 Schools of Excellence.
  • 30 Residential Schools are meant for boys and 20 Residential Schools are for girls.
  • Entry point in these (50) Residential schools is V class except SOEs and PTG schools. Each class will have two sections. In each section there are 40 students.
  • Total strength of each school with classes 5th to 10th is 480.
  • English is the medium of instruction with State Syllabus in all these schools.
  • In schools of Excellence classes are from 8th to 12th with a strength 450 (8th to10th @ 90 students in 3 sections and 11th to 12th @ 40 students in MPC and BPC)

2. PTG (Primitive Tribal Group) Residential Schools
  • Out of (190) Residential Institutions, (10) Residential Schools are meant for PTGs category. Out of which, (8) for boys, (2) for girls. The (2) Residential Schools for Yanadis at Nellore district are also included in this category.
  • The entry point in these schools is 3rd class.
  • These institutions are having the medium of instruction Telugu for 3rd, 4th classes and English medium for the classes (State syllabus) 5th to 10th.
  • The Students studying Telugu medium in 4th class will be promoted to 5th class (English Medium).
  • 3% of seats reserved for PTG physically handicapped students under PTG reservation quota.
  • Admissions will not be given to other tribal students in these PTG institutions. The distribution of seats will be done, proportionately to the population of different PTG communities in the concerned area.
  • In respect of PTG Res. Schools at Nellore district i.e., Chittedu and Somasila, admissions will be given to Yanadi students belongs to Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur, Kadapa, Chittoor Districts and from Srisailam ITDA area only.
  • Admission will be provided through drawl of lots including backlog vacancies.

  • Member convener: DD (TW) in ITDA Districts / DTWO in Non ITDA District

    • Parents Committee President / Secretary of the schools concerned District.
  • Invitees:
    • Public Representatives –Local MP, MLA, MLC, MPP, ZPTC, MPTC & Sarpanch
    • Member of parents committee, Tribal association etc.
Admission Procedure:
  • Selection of students shall be on the basis of random picking by way of drawl of lots.
  • The lottery process shall be done in a transparent manner in the presence of all the members of the committee and invitees.
